2021 GT Open Champions awarded at ceremony in Madrid

The GT Sport 2021 Awards Ceremony took place on Saturday 27 November in Madrid, Spain, in the glamour of the Ritz Hotel.

Winners of the International GT Open received recognition for their achievements in the past season with Bas Leinders, Team Manager of inception Racing collecting silverware on behalf of drivers Brendan Iribe-Ollie Millroy and Nick Moss-Joe Osborne, respectively the winners and third classified in Pro-Am.

Drivers were well underway with preparations for the final round of the Intercontinental GT Challenge, the Joburg Kyalami 9H thus, Team Manager, Leinders collected the silverware on their behalf. However, due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, the event in South Africa was cancelled on the evening of Friday 26.

Bas Leinders on the awards evening:

“The Optimum Motorsport crew worked hard all year long to conquer the Pro-Am title with Brendan Iribe and Ollie Millroy and the cherry on top was the overall win of Nick Moss and Joe Osborne, who finished third in the Championship.

“I believe that the celebration of success is very important and increases productivity, as a team we all celebrated with all crew members on the Sunday evening after the Barcelona race and it is great that GT Sports was able to organised this Award Ceremony in the beautiful setting of the Mandarin Oriental Ritz in Madrid.”
