INCEPTION RACING ADDS JAXON EVANS FOR SAHLEN'S SIX HOURS OF THE GLEN AS SCHANDORFF HEADS TO SPA
Inception Racing is pleased to confirm that Jaxon Evans will step-in for Frederik Schandorff in the No. 70 Ferrari 296 GT3 EVO for the Sahlen's Six Hours of The Glen at Watkins Glen International, the sixth round of the 2026 IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship.
The New Zealander slots into the cockpit alongside Inception’s IMSA Michelin Endurance GTD line-up of Brendan Iribe and Ollie Millroy, as Frederik Schandorff takes the opportunity to contest the CrowdStrike 24 Hours of Spa with Selected Car Racing — swapping one prancing horse for another as he trades the #70 Ferrari for the twice-around-the-clock Belgian enduro. On their last outing together, Schandorff and Iribe took the GTD Bronze win at WeatherTech Raceway Laguna Seca - with Iribe currently out front in the Bob Akin Award points standings.
29-year-old Jaxon is no stranger to the IMSA paddock, having previously joined Kellymoss with Riley for the Michelin Endurance Cup rounds of the 2023 IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship, demonstrating the pace and racecraft required to perform at the sharp end of the GTD field.
For Evans, his IMSA campaign was one of the top rungs on the Porsche Motorsport ladder that he has climbed over the past decade. In 2018, he secured the Porsche Carrera Cup Australia championship, earning selection to the prestigious Porsche Junior Programme — a hotly contested global shootout.
By 2021, Jaxon had progressed on to the global stage, securing third place in the FIA World Endurance Championship GTE-Am standings that year, including a top-five finish in class at the 24 Hours of Le Mans. The following year, he secured overall victory at the inaugural Nürburgring 12 Hours - again with Porsche. His final Porsche-powered podium came at Bathurst 12 Hours in 2024, where Evans competed in the Pro class and finished fourth outright before making to switch to Ferrari GT3 machinery to contest GT World Challenge Australia.
From 10 starts, Evans secured four Pro-Am podiums, two class pole positions and one victory with the Ferrari 296 GT3, ultimately finishing third in the Pro-Am championship that year. In 2025, he went one better, finishing vice-champion after recording eight Pro-Am podiums, four wins and four class pole positions from 12 races. He also claimed victory in the Pro-Am class at the 2025 Bathurst 12 Hours.
Driving the #26 Ferrari 296 GT3 Evo for ARGT, Evans has already secured three Pro-Am podiums in GT World Challenge Australia this season. In addition to this, he has claimed multiple GT World Challenge Asia podiums aboard the Audi R8 LMS GT3 Evo II and will return to the Australian Supercars Endurance Cup later this year.
The Sahlen's Six Hours of The Glen represents a significant Michelin Endurance Cup assignment for Inception Racing, who currently hold a second-place finish at the Glen among their recent Endurance Cup results, alongside their TireRack.com Battle on the Bricks GTD victory at Indianapolis last year.
Jaxon Evans said: "I’m really looking forward to joining Inception Racing for the Sahlen’s Six Hours of The Glen. It’s a race and a circuit that I’ve enjoyed in the past, so it’s pretty cool to be heading back there.
Inception Racing has a strong reputation in endurance racing, and I’m excited to work with the team for the first time. The Ferrari 296 GT3 Evo has been performing well, and I’m confident we’ll have a strong package for the weekend. I’m grateful for the opportunity and can’t wait to get back to IMSA competition!’
