Alongside the team’s FIA World Endurance Championship and IMSA campaigns, Inception Racing have also revealed their plans for the 2022 Fanatec GT World Challenge Europe Powered by AWS season, targeting success in the Endurance Cup.
The team from Wakefield made their GT World Challenge Europe debut back in 2020 under the Optimum Motorsport banner and last year raced in three GTWCE endurance races in Pro-Am under Inception Racing.
This year, Brendan Iribe and Ollie Millroy will continue their successful partnership alongside Frederik Schandorff who also joins the duo for their IMSA campaign, finishing fifth in class with Jordan Pepper at this year’s Rolex 24H at Daytona in January.
Bas Leinders, Team Manager
“Last year we showed good pace on several occasions, such as the Pro-Am pole at Monza, but unfortunately, we weren’t able to get the result we wanted, the while team has continued to work hard and we are looking forward to the taking on the new challenge in the newly created Gold Cup.
“A good result in the 24 Hours of Spa will be vital in order to have any title hopes. Brendan has accumulated a lot of driving time throughout the past year and has made great progress which has been the corner stone to out success at the start of the year in Daytona and in the Asian Le Mans Series. I’m also excited to welcome Frederick to our line-up alongside Ollie, they all work really well together.”
