Following their fourth-place finish at last month’s 24 Hours of Spa, Inception Racing now head into the penultimate race on the Fanatec GT World Challenge Europe Endurance Cup calendar, second in the Gold Cup class standings.

This weekend (1 - 4 September) the championship heads to Hockenheim for its maiden appearance at the historic German venue. Located in the southwestern state of Baden-Württemberg, the 4.6km circuit marks the end of the summer break that traditionally follows the marquee TotalEnergies 24 Hours of Spa.

The Belgian Endurance race has done a great deal to shape the championship battles that will play out between now and the final at Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya (30 September - 2 October). Nevertheless, the glory is still up for grabs in Gold Cup class with Inception Racing just 8 points shy of new leaders, Iron Dames.

The Optimum Motorsport-run McLaren has been formidably quick this year, taking class victory at Circuit Paul Ricard thanks to the #7 crew of Brendan, Ollie and Frederik. The same trio will complete this weekend's line-up for the 3-hour endurance event on Sunday afternoon.

Ollie Millroy

“Super pumped after the summer break to head out to Hockenheim for the next round of the GT World Challenge Europe Series. We lost the championship lead last time out in Spa, so we need to give it everything this week to get it back.”
