Aston Martin GT4 Challenge driver Jade Edwards will join Matt Draper at Optimum Motorsport in the #41 Ginetta G55 GT4 for the Snetterton 300 round of the Avon Tyres British GT Championship on June 21-22.

The Maidenhead resident – who is backed by Hanro.co.uk, Quote Me Today Insurance and FreeParking.co.uk - makes her debut for the squad alongside Draper, who currently sits in third position in the British GT4 Drivers Championship, with pairings Andrew Jarman and Devon Modell ahead in joint first and Ross Wylie and Jake Giddings in joint second.

Optimum Motorsport – who sit in third position in the British GT4 Teams Championship - started their season with the line-up of Draper and Tania Mann who had to revise her racing programme due to work commitments, meaning that reigning GT4 Champ Ryan Ratcliffe made a one-off return for the squad at the Silverstone 500.

“I’m so happy to be joining Optimum Motorsport and the Avon Tyres British GT Championship grid for Snetterton. I've raced at the track before in lower level racing so I'm confident myself and Matt will make a good pairing in GT4. Of course, joining halfway through the year does put me on the back foot slightly, but I'm always happy to step up to a challenge and I can't wait to get started!”

Shaun Goff, Team Manager, Optimum Motorsport

“Jade’s a great competitor and we expect to continue our title push with her on board. She has proven to have excellent pace in everything she has driven and her recent experience and success in the Aston GT4 Challenge means she has recent endurance racing experience. Snetterton’s two races will give us an ideal platform to continue our championship fight.”
