After the heartbreak of a last lap mechanical failure that denied the team a certain victory at Estoril, Optimum Motorsport return to the International GT Open Championship this coming weekend (9-10 June) at Spa Francorchamps expecting another strong performance at the head of the field.

Ollie Wilkinson and Bradley Ellis team up once again in the #96 Audi R8 LMS following a successful outing at Brands Hatch in the GT Cup where they won all three of the weekend’s races. The team also opted to take part in the recent test at Spa-Francorchamps and feel fully prepared for the third round of the championship.

Whilst the championship itself has never been the ultimate ambition due to calendar conflicts, the team will once again be one to watch in both Saturday’s 70-minute race and Sunday’s one-hour event.

“The Spa round of GT Open is the race we’ve been looking forward to the most,” said Team Principal Shaun Goff.  “We’ve tested there recently and off the back of a successful weekend at GT Cup we should be in good shape for a result, I’m bullish to about the overall result too!”
