It’s been a fantastic debut season for Ollie Wilkinson and Bradley Ellis in the International GT Open Championship as the Optimum Motorsport pairing now prepare for the final round of the championship this coming weekend (20-21 October) in Barcelona, Spain.

Ollie and Bradley made their debut in the championship at Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya a year ago as a taster for what to expect over the full campaign this year. It was a successful event, with great speed from the #96 Audi R8 LMS package, setting them up nicely for the 2018 challenge.

Since then, the team has secured victories at Spa-Francorchamps and Silverstone and are confident of a strong showing in the Pro-Am class at the season finale.

Ollie meanwhile also took part in a test day at the circuit recently to reacquaint himself with the circuit and – along with the team - will be looking to end his season on a high.

Shaun Goff, Team Principal

“We’ve had a good season overall in this championship. The R8 has taken some learning, but Ollie has adapted well in his first season racing at this level and we’ve scored wins which can only be of benefit as we look at our 2019 programme. We believe we can end the season on a positive note, but whatever the result, it’s been a good learning year for Ollie.”

Bradley Ellis

“We’re both looking forward to the finale. We showed good potential last year at the track and now we have a full season under our belt in the Audi I’m hoping we can have an even stronger showing. Unfortunately, I couldn’t make the test day, but I know Ollie and the team came away happy with the setup, so this is giving me confidence going into the race weekend.”
