Having just returned from the first race of the year: The Rolex 24 Hours at Daytona International Speedway, Inception Racing along with Optimum Motorsport head to the Middle East for their 2022 Asian Le Mans Campaigns.

Brendan Iribe and Ollie Millroy are joined by their 24 Hours of Le Mans co-pilot and newly signed Lexus-factory driver, Ben Barnicoat in the team’s #7 entry. Having shown their front-running pace at last year’s Asian Le Mans series, gaining a podium in their Series debut, the trio look to repeat such success once again.

As for Optimum Motorsport who will field the number 42 McLaren 720S GT3 for Nick Moss, Joe Osborne, and Andrew Watson, the series marks the first event in which the team’s new papaya livery will be showcased - and what better debut backdrop than the desert of the Middle East!

Dubai Autodrome’s 5.39km circuit will play host to the first two rounds of the Asian Le Mans season before the teams head to Abu Dhabi to round up the action on 19 - 20 February.

Andrew Watson

“I’m really looking forward to taking on the Asian Le Mans Series. It’s an intense couple of weeks and the perfect way to get the year started, Between Joe, Nick and myself, I think we’ve got a really strong line up and a good car to race with in the McLaren. Everyone at Optimum Motorsport is pushing for success and we can’t wait to get started.”
