Optimum Motorsport are at the mid-point of the Michelin Le Mans Cup championship and are busy preparing for this weekend’s (25-26 August, 2017) fourth round of the series that takes place at Circuit Paul Ricard, France.

The team will again field the #75 Audi R8 LMS for Flick Haigh and Joe Osborne and with a second and third position at Monza and Red Bull Ring respectively, the team sits third in the championship standings with 34.5 points, just 15 shy of the series leader.

The team has plenty of experience at the circuit from its programme in the 24H Series, but this race also marks the one-year anniversary for the team in the Michelin Le Mans Cup, having made its debut with the Audi at the same venue last year, finishing fourth. This year, very much in the GT3 title hunt, victory is the objective.

Shaun Goff, Team Principal

“The Road to Le Mans aside, we’ve had a good season to date results-wise and importantly showing to be competitive in every round. Paul Ricard should suit the Audi R8 better than the Red Bull Ring, so we have high hopes that we can challenge for the win and close the championship gap.”

Joe Osborne

"Even with the bad luck and mistakes from us, to still be in with a chance of the championship shows that we've had a strong package! In the last three rounds, we need to eliminate all mistakes and gain some good fortune and push for the championship!”
