After a pair of fourth-place finishes at Snetterton, Optimum Motorsport are looking forward to getting back on track this coming weekend (9-10 June) at Silverstone for round four of the British GT Championship.

Issues in qualifying for the last round compromised the teams’ bid for victory, but strong drives from Flick Haigh and Jonny Adam in the #75 Aston Martin Vantage GT3 yielded solid results and heading to Silverstone, the team aims to get back on the podium.

Haigh and Adam are sixth in the drivers’ standings with 57 points and remain within striking range of the championship leaders on 78.5.

The team recently tested at Silverstone and believe that the Aston Martin package should be well-suited to the three-hour Silverstone 500 race.

Shaun Goff, Team Principal

“Silverstone has been a good one for us in the past. Being a longer race, strategy can play a part and it’s not all about the driver’s ultimate pace. As a team we can react to any given situation and optimise the result in the three-hour race. We have no success penalty for the last pit stop so if we get the car on the money we should be in good shape.”

Flick Haigh

“We had two strong races last time out at Snetterton, but qualifying really let us down. We want to get back to our winning ways and Silverstone is a good place to start.”

Jonny Adam

“We’re looking for a good result at Silverstone as it’s one of the circuits that suits our car. We had a reasonable test there a few weeks ago and Flick has been there before and as we saw at Snetterton, when she gets going, she’s quick. So hopefully a trouble-free race where we can bag some big points for the championship and get right back up there.”
