SRO Motorsports Group has revealed plans to begin the European racing season this summer, with revised calendars confirmed for GT World Challenge Europe Powered by AWS and the Intelligent Money British GT Championship.

Following consultation with key stakeholders, GT World Challenge Europe will consist of eight events split equally between the Endurance Cup and the Sprint Cup. To ensure that the season retains its original format, the Sprint weekends at Misano and Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya will both expand to feature three races, while the Nürburgring round of the Endurance Cup becomes a six-hour contest. By implementing these solutions, it is intended that the season preserves its sporting challenge while adapting to the unique circumstances of 2020.

British GT  will feature nine races at six UK-based events this year as part of a new provisional 2020 calendar. Four events postponed due to the coronavirus pandemic have been rescheduled, while all six will take place in Britain to reduce travel and costs. Nine races – five sprint and four endurance – are also confirmed, the same total number as 2020’s calendar originally featured. Likewise, the cumulative 15 hours of racing time also remains unchanged.
