Optimum Motorsport is delighted to welcome Rob Bell and Mark Radcliffe to the helm of their McLaren 720S GT3 for the teams’ return to the Intelligent Money British GT Championship.

The Wakefield-based squad have a rich history of racing in the series and have been a prominent entry into the British Championship since 2012, and since then have gained five titles on home soil including the GT3 drivers’ crown back in 2018.

Starting from 2011 in the BMW M3 and having previously contested in a plethora of Porsche Carrera Cup and Supercup championships from 2016, Radcliffe made his British GT debut at last year’s Brands Hatch round in the Porsche 718 Cayman GT4 fielded by Valluga Racing. For 2023, he joins Optimum Motorsport in search of claiming an elusive first outright British GT title.

Albeit, this will be Radcliffe’s first full season contesting in a McLaren, he’s in great company as Rob Bell, fellow Brit and one of many talents from McLaren’s roster, will join him in steering Optimum’s entry to success. Bell took the 720S GT3 for its first-ever victory on British soil during the 2019 British GT season finale at Donington Park, a feat the duo look to repeat many times throughout their 2023 campaign.

Having competed as a one-off British GT Silverstone 500 entry last summer and claiming third place overall, Shaun Goff’s outfit now look ahead to the start of a new season in the highly competitive GT3 category.

“It’s great to be back on the [Intelligent Money British GT] grid this year! As we all know it’s a championship that is close to my heart so we’re really happy to announce our return,” said Shaun Goff, Optimum Motorsport Team Principal.

“Rob has a wealth of experience in the GT3, and Mark’s shown great pace in our recent test day. I’m looking forward to contesting for the overall title once again.”
