GT Open Austria and WEC Fuji on this weekend’s schedule for Optimum Motorsport and Inception Racing

From the Styrian hills to the Land of the Rising Sun, this weekend marks double duties for the Optimum Motorsport-run crews as GT Open heads to Austria, with the World Endurance Championship returning to Fuji, Japan, for the first time since 2019.

Following their success in GT Open’s last event in Hungary back in July, Nick and Joe head into this weekend just 3 points shy of leaders, Van Berlo and Gilardoni (Oregon Team). Last year, the Optimum Motorsport duo claimed the Pro-Am pole and win for race 1 of the Austrian weekend as a Styrian storm red-flagged the race with 10 minutes to spare.

This weekend looks to play testament to last year with heavy rain expected across both Saturday and Sunday!

Meanwhile, the Team Project 1 x Inception Racing crew head to Fuji International Speedway, Japan for this year’s penultimate round of the FIA World Endurance Championship.

The team claimed their first points haul in the last round at Monza in their #56 Porsche 911 RSR since Sebring earlier on this year. Great Britain is the most represent nation on the Fuji 2022 grid, with 20 drivers across the classes including WEC Fuji debutants Ollie Millroy and Ben Barnicoat.
