The Fanatec GT World Challenge Europe Powered by AWS heads to Le Castellet for the second round of the Endurance Cup. Inception Racing look to secure more points in this weekend’s six hours of Paul Ricard before heading up to Circuit de la Sarthe for the 24 Hours of Le Mans Test day.

For Brendan Iribe and Ollie Millroy, the 5.8km circuit brings back good memories as last May, the duo took to the podium in the International GT Open season opener with a second-place Pro-Am finish in Race 1 of the weekend.

Frederik Schandorff will also join them this weekend as the trio search for revenge after an unfortunate start to their Endurance Cup campaign in Imola saw their #7 McLaren nearly fall from the race after contact in the closing stages.

Beginning at 18:00 CEST, the race creates one of the most impressive scenes of the season as the competitors race against the setting sun. An expanded 54-car field will tackle the 2022 edition, which serves as an important tune-up for the Blue Riband TotalEnergies 24 Hours of Spa.

Live coverage of the Fanatec GT World Challenge Europe Powered by AWS action begins with Saturday’s qualifying session and will be available across a variety of online platforms, including the GT World YouTube channel.

As the final Fanatec endurance round before the TotalEnergies 24 Hours of Spa and with the prospect of GT3 cars racing at sundown, the Circuit Paul Ricard 1000km promises to be among the premier events go the 2022 campaign.

Ollie Millroy

“GT World Challenge Paul Ricard 1000km, we’re coming for you! I’m really looking for to getting out there in the Inception Racing McLaren 720S GT3 this weekend (3-5 June).”
